Hockney's iconic Arrival of Springs were created in a huge surge of energy after 35 years in California. In what are one of the very few examples of Hockney creating images of his beloved Yorkshire, we see his incredibly confident and joyful depictions of childhood images which were the subject of a hugely popular exhibition at the Royal Acadmey of Arts. Each image is one of only 25 globally and as such these are very highly prized and very difficult to source. Using colour of unprecedented strength and an ability to record light immediately (with instantaneous change of brushes and colour permitted by the iPad) he produced some of the best images of his career.
